Why Green Infrastructure Matters in Chicago
In Chicago, green infrastructure is not just an environmental initiative—it is a critical response to the city’s most pressing urban challenges. With increasing heavy rainfall overwhelming aging sewer systems and contributing to flooding and water pollution in Lake Michigan, solutions like green roofs, bioswales, and permeable pavements are essential for managing stormwater at its source. At the same time, Chicago’s dense urban landscape amplifies heat island effects, making urban greening strategies vital for cooling neighborhoods, improving public health, and enhancing quality of life. As a recognized leader in sustainable urban design, Chicago provides a powerful, real-world case study of how green infrastructure can drive resilience, economic development, and environmental stewardship—making it the ideal setting for a conference that brings together the innovators shaping the future of cities.
This conference offers an unmatched opportunity to network with fellow professionals, exchange ideas, and discover new opportunities in the rapidly growing green infrastructure sector. Attendees can earn up to 7 continuing education credits, making this a valuable experience for professional development.
