The Green Roof Installation and Maintenance Professional (GRIMP) Training is designed to provide participants with a grounding in this information, covering a variety of different green roof systems, and a wide range of planting types to provide green roof installers and maintenance professionals with the information, techniques, and training necessary to successfully install and maintain green roofs.

Registration is limited to 16 participants, and includes:

• Unlimited access to online course recordings

• Hands-on training with a selection of green roof modules

• Digital resource manual

• One attempt at the online GRIMP Exam

• One year of GRHC Individual Membership

Design

Architek worked closely with PFS Studio Landscape Architects on this Westbank/Bjark Ingels Group (BIG) project as the green roofs on the lower buildings presented some unique challenges due to access and the sloped triangular architecture. A complex stainless-steel shear barrier system was employed in Architek’s design for these sloped green roofs.

Installation

Architek worked with Icon Pacific, the general contractor and installed the numerous sloped green roofs over a two year period while handling a number of access challenges and other trade activity. In the summer of 2020 Architek finally completed the installation stage of this large project and began the maintenance.

Maintenance

Architek maintains the green roofs on the 3 buildings on the development.
