Target Center Tour

At 113,000 s.f., the Target Center Arena green roof - the fifth largest extensive green roof and the first green roof installed on an arena in North America - mitigates the urban heat island effect, greens views from above, provides wildlife habitat and improves urban air quality on a scale that is not feasible at grade in an urban area like downtown Minneapolis. It also mitigates storm water runoff from a significant amount of impervious surface. Planted with more than twenty five species of native plants and more than ten species of Sedums, the Target green roof is a dynamic, resilient plant community that attracts many pollinators.

ATTN: This green roof is not ADA accessible, and the roof is only accessible via a ship’s ladder. It is highly recommended to wear long pants and close-toed shoes; high heels are not allowed.
