Grey to Green is proud to offer comprehensive tours led by subject matter experts. All tours except for the Sustainable Buildings Tour are are included in workshop packages, but can also be registered for separately.


Green Wall Walking Tour

Two green walls will be featured in two spectacular green walls. Visit the 2012 CitiesAlive Awards of Excellence Green Wall that is prominently featured in Corus Quay, a LEED Gold Certified building. The five-story living wall biofilter acts as an indoor air purifier consuming volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and other air contaminants. You’ll also tour the a 250 square foot biowall at Robertson Building where you will learn about the native and exotic green and flowering plants that were all selected for their ability to reduce indoor air contaminants.

Low Impact Development Site Bus Tour

The tour includes the exploration of three different Mississauga Low Impact Development sites: Credit Valley Conservation's Head Office, Elm Drive and Wychwood sites.

Urban Agriculture Tour

Tour Ryerson Urban Farm’s (RUF) quarter-acre rooftop farm. It produces fruits and vegetables, provides opportunities for academic research, and enables the community to participate in cultivating and tending to the farm. Next, visit Scadding Court Community Centre which has piloted a sustainable urban agriculture and aquaponics system that improves food security and food education. Tour the aquaponics, greenhouses, and outdoor plots and learn technical design and maintenance features, as well as the social impact within the community.
