Kephart will be presenting at Grey to Green 2018 in Toronto as part of the Afternoon Keynote and will share updates on a new JNBY Headquarters in Hangzhou, China. The project, in collaboration with Renzo Piano Building Workshop will transform a barren brown field site into a new Mixed-Use Commercial landscape that will serve as the headquarters for the fashion design company. The urban infill project includes commercial, retail, and office space, as well as an art gallery and outdoor public performance space.

The JNBY Headquarters is part of a landscape that incorporates a dense tree canopy and native hardwoods, a series of sunken courtyards, and open, interactive terraced spaces. The mixed-use development will feature living roofs planted with tea plants to reduce rainwater runoff while also helping to cool buildings on hot summer days. Living walls will face the interior courtyard and will decrease energy loads for cooling, reduce light intensity and improve interior comfort as well as provide habitat.

The Afternoon Keynote will showcase projects that are pushing the boundaries of what we thought was possible of our buildings. There are no limits to building with green infrastructure and Grey to Green will take conference-goers right to the edge of the industries next major advances!
